Down Ampney Village Hall is closed for the time being for extensive refurbishment.

It will reopen to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the original opening in May 2008.

LOCATION

Down Ampney Village Hall is a modern well-appointed facility situated in the centre of the small picturesque Cotswold village of Down Ampney famous as the birthplace of the composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. The Village Hall is easily accessible from either the Swindon or Cirencester area via the A 419 or the A417.

A VIBRANT PART OF THE VILLAGE

Residents of the village and non-residents regularly use the Village Hall. The Village Hall is host to the many active clubs in the village and to Annual events such as the Arnhem Reunion, Summer Fete and Christmas Bazaar.

It is an ideal setting for wedding receptions, disco's, private parties, dances and is equally suitable as a venue for business training seminars or conferences.

THE FACILITY

Down Ampney Village Hall is a well-maintained hall that was built in the 1980s. It is situated in its own grounds adjacent to the tennis courts and is bordered by lawns and farmland.

It comprises a Main Hall (13.72m X 9.15m) with a sprung beech wood floor, and an adjoining Committee Room (8.7m X 8.4m) which can be hired as a separate facility including a well stocked Bar.

The facility also comprises a well-equipped Servery designed to give easy hatch access to the Main Hall whilst retaining good access to both the Bar and main entrance.

The Village Hall is licensed to hold up to 140 people.

The main entrance is reached from a raised paved area incorporating a slope from the car park and a removable ramp to allow wheelchair access to the facility.

CAR PARKING

To the front of the Village Hall is an all weather car park that can accommodate over 60 cars which is free and is for the use of the Village Hall.

In compiling the following hire charges for the Village Hall the Committee have endeavoured to be competitive in their rates and provide a flexible wide range of services to suit all potential hirers. Hourly rates are offered so that the Village Hall can be hired for the exact time wanted.
