The Cotswold’s newest village hall

The Village Hall is available for hire by individuals, groups or business organisations.

LOCATION

Down Ampney Village Hall has been completely rebuilt and fitted out in 2009 on the site of the old Village Hall located in the centre of the small picturesque village of Down Ampney famous as the birthplace of Ralph Vaughan Williams and the historic WWII airfield where daring exploits were despatched to Arnhem and D–Day.

The Village Hall is easily accessible from Cirencester, Fairford or Swindon along the A417 AND A419.

THE FACILITIES

The Layout of the new hall has been re-laid out with emphasis on a large main hall with sprung hardwood floor and French doors leading out onto a large patio area and lawns [ideal for the erection of an additional marquee ], well equipped Servery , separate committee room (Dakota Room) with a fully stocked bar and a private meeting room (Wynne Room) on the second floor.

It is licensed to hold up to 140 people with improved accessibility for all users and Disabled Toilet and baby changing facilities.

EXTERNAL

The Hall is set in a central area of the Village surrounded by gardens and lawns. Access to the Hall is via a ramp from a large all weather car park that can accommodate over 60 cars. To the rear there is a large patio and beyond that lawns which can be used to site a marquee for weddings and act as outside venue for open air events. These can accessed through French doors in the main Hall.

INTERNAL LAYOUT

Main Hall: The picture below shows the large area (13.72m X 9.15m) available to the user. It can be laid out in different ways to suit the hirers intended use. It has portable staging and mood lighting that will add atmosphere to a number of events with seating for 140 people.

Servery: This is an extensively equipped kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, fridge and crockery & cutlery for a range of events up to 140 people. Serving hatches to both the main hall and Dakota Room.

Dakota Room: Adjoining the main hall this has a comfortable lounge (8.75m X 4.56m) with seating area and a fully equipped Bar. It is a smaller room that can be hired separately for a variety of functions or meetings.

Wynne Room: This new room is on the first floor with the option of separate external access. This room is equipped with meeting tables and chairs and is ideal for small groups and business meetings

A large storage room off the main hall allows for the storage of chairs, tables and easy to assemble stage, all on easy to manoeuvre Trolleys

All rooms have a hearing loop fitted to make a big difference to all users who have hearing aids.

EQUIPMENT

The Village Hall has been built to the highest up-to-date building regulations ensuring an efficient environmentally friendly hall including a modern air source heating system installed to all areas.

MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION

Lap top and wireless broadband connection providing internet access in all rooms and will be subject to specific agreement on use.

Audio Visual equipment is available for use in the main hall and the meeting rooms

A VIBRANT PART OF THE VILLAGE

Residents of the village and non-residents regularly use the Village Hall. The Village Hall is host to the many active clubs in the village and to Annual events such as the Arnhem Reunion, Summer Fete and Christmas Bazaar.

It is an ideal setting for wedding receptions, disco's, private parties, dances and is equally suitable as a venue for business training seminars or conferences.
